The Cantankerous Debate
Well, Mark and I have been debating with each as to how the DVI
to Component adapter works. After arguing for the last few weeks,
we finally gave in and tried to find out. So grabbed one of these
awesome cables from our stock, pulled out our trusty multi-meter, and
found the pinout by using the Ohm function. It turns out that this
cable works strictly with DVI-I. In fact,
it doesn’t use a single digital line from the cable to make the
connection. What does this say about the cable? Well, that it still is
an awesome cable, but will only work with devices that output an analog
signal. This also means that this cable will not work with HDMI
ports(since they only send out a digital signal). What does this say
about Mark? That he is one smart cookie. I will not display my theory
out of pure embarrassment.
